About Us
our Mission
Our organization portrays the value of Iranian art and culture to contribute to our society by providing access to art that is intrinsic to the improvement of culture.
As Iranian art and cinema are internationally appreciated, it’s important we also recognize this impact to help people distinguish Iranian arts and culture for what they genuinely are.
We truly believe that art in any form of it has a wide and worthwhile impact on economy, society, education and wellbeing.
we also thrive to bridge the cultural gap between Iranian and international audiences.

Pezhman Hadavi
My journey in the film industry in British Columbia has been an adventurous one, taking me on a path that spans multiple careers and three continents. I was raised in Tehran, Iran where I honed my skills as a civil engineer and worked in the field for five years. However, I soon found my true calling in sales and marketing. In 2010, I made the bold move to Nairobi, Kenya. I started my own tour and safari company and opened an Italian restaurant.
My passion for film began when I worked as a fixer for photographers, and I soon transitioned into the film industry as a production manager. I was part of the team that brought “The Fourth Child,” an Iranian feature film, to life, and this project took me to various locations, including Kenya, Somalia, and Iran. This was just the beginning of my journey in the film industry. I continued to work on numerous productions, from Iran to Kenya to Iraq, Cyprus, and Canada’s west coast.
In addition to my production work, I also had the opportunity to challenge myself by acting as a main character in films like “Once a Woman” and “Tragedy.” When I moved to Vancouver in 2015, I founded the Vancouver Iranian Film Society, later renamed the Iranian Film Society, which has organized over 300 cultural events such as film festivals, movie screenings, live plays, acting and screenplay writing workshops, and musical concerts in cities like Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, and Nairobi Kenya.
My latest production, “Mastermind,” was shot in Cyprus, Iran, Spain, and Canada, and I was proud to be the executive producer. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I used the extra time to focus on self-awareness and connecting with nature. My love for environmental films led me to create the British Columbia Environmental Film Festival in April 2021, with the goal of connecting filmmakers with the scientific community and indigenous knowledge to promote fact-checked environmental films and encourage people to learn how to be more environmentally friendly.
